TypeScript is looked upon very highly by everyone at MS and I haven't seen any new projects started with vanilla JS in the last few years. No one needs to encourage anyone to use it. It's just the obvious choice for large projec

I've seen a lot of weird talk regarding using Service Workers to do things that don't make any sense to me. In this case, what good is all this code? The service worker only controls the page on subsequent visits, after the use

No I meant why would you expect it to be faster than bundling, not HTTP1. When writing articles like this, there should really be more detail. We're all the scripts just script tags in the html? AMD dependencies discovered as the tree

Without using server push or server hinting, why would you even expected http2 to be faster? But as you point out, the article doesn't mention using either of these and the HAR seems to back that up. Weird!

Has anyone demonstrated XSS attacks that work even when CSP is properly configured? Seems like all discussion of XSS now-a-days should be preceded with a note that you should go turn on CSP before worrying about any other form of preventio

Security dialogs like this don't work. No one reads them and in this case it isn't even asking users to make a decision they can understand. It's hard enough to have the right UI when a user is on a site with a broken SSL c

And what should browsers prompt users with? "Would you like to use WebRTC?" What would that do to improve security for users?

It's like the difference between TypeScript and ES6. The goals are intentionally aligned, and as the underlying platform adds support for the constructs that power TypeScript, it can continue to delegate more and more to the underlyin

Yeah, the creator of TypeScript was complaining about this in a presentation. I think the existing syntax "import X from Y" reads more naturally than "from Y import X" but obviously the latter is better for tooling and

What does it mean to balance requests across cores? To run T event loop threads/procs, where T is tied to the number of CPU cores? So like, a pre-forking, multi-proc, evented server? I actually can't think of a case where a mult

Evented io is great for extremely high concurrency, but that isn't always the right thing to optimize for. A forking web server might be faster for users depending on the application. Lastly, you can't just have an event loop wit

I love Cmder but went back to Console2 because I find it almost impossibly confusing to configure (there are 900 settings) and more importantly, it occasionally stops accepting input for ~5 seconds. I hope the Windows 10 native console impr

If flex hasn't completely changed how you write layout related CSS, and it isn't because of legacy browser support, you're missing out. I also recommend this guide which is very visual and helped me a lot: http://c

flex-shrink dictates how negative free space should be distributed. When there is no free space, it is irrelevant. In addition to that, below a certain width, the CSS on the parent UL is being changed from flex-wrap: nowrap; to flex-wrap:
