Code quality falls off dramatically after 4-5 hours. Unit tests are the last line of defense in crunch mode, but even TDD doesn't prevent the bug onslaught if people are tired.

You're incorrect with regard to diversification. You can go short the good company and long equivalent bad company (or a basket of securities containing a bad company) and be more or less hedged until the premium for being a "good

I think many recruiters would e-mail goats and ask them to apply to Google if they could. I'm not sure they care or filter people very well in many cases. This sort of thing is usually a sign that your recruiter is not a good recruiter
