This is pretty much entirely it. We use AWS WAF for a bunch of this which is necessary because the other AWS components are so dumb. We definitely don't want to overcomplicate our WAF setup. Good enough is good enough.

No go because they need to "manage" this. Everything needs to be synchronized, people need to be aligned. All the busy work needs to go somewhere.

I’ve reluctantly used Travis for the last years and hardly seen new features or long standing open bugs being fixed. Not sure what the people were doing but this seems typical for a Ruby project.

That's the most curious part, that he wants to go more low-level with Swift instead of high-level. Systems programming seems well catered for with Java, Go and Rust while high level application programming is left at the mercy of javas

Kotlin would be unnecessary if Apple would do the work to interop/compile Swift both to the JVM ecosystem and the JavaScript one. Unfortunately Apple's ambition on swift seems to have stalled.
