I am not even sure if the problem described in the article is specific to gRPC. I think it's a HTTP/2 problem. Any sane HTTP/2 client making N queries to the same host/IP ideally should use 1 connection since h2 supports

Yeah, Google's L7 load balancers have been supporting gRPC since forever, but I'm also surprised to hear AWS and Cloudflare only recently added gRPC support. Maybe the author uses only AWS so that's why only AWS is relevant t

Something that is really cool about Sysinternals tools are that they have a pretty usable GUI (granted, once you need to understand what does each UI icon do). Mimicking this experience in the TUI/terminal would certainly be a challeng

Imagine you have 50 EC2 instances and each of them suffers 15% downtime monthly. Amazon is asking money to reboot them and get them up and running.

That was my reaction to the video: Aren't there franchisors with many stores in a large metro area that can actually carry a lawsuit or get together with other franchisors to start a class-action lawsuit?

The most important tool I found for switching directories is called "z". You just partially type a previously visited directory's name and it takes you there. It also keeps track of your history to rank candidates for popular
