Maybe we should :) Although I think hackerbook.com would be a better name for some sort of collaborative book project. I get what you're saying, but if you look at it from Facebook's point of view if they don't defend their trademark they'l

In all fairness it seems like they're trying to say that they own [generic]book.tld in the context of social networks. Teachbook.com sounds like it's a social network for Teachers and is possibly using its name to say "Hey, we're like the F

A lot of people are interested in programming here. Thus a lot of people are interested in languages. A lot of people here are also specifically interested in Lisp. A lot of interesting things are happening in Clojure. Therefore a lot of Cl

Anyone have any recommendations for trying Clojure? I'm an Emacs user on Ubuntu and I'd like to try it out but there seems to be quite a lot of choice about how you do things I'm a bit lost. Any up to date blog posts on setting up Clojure a

I remember using Windows 98 Light Edition or something. It was a hacked version of Windows with IE surgically removed. As fast and stable as Windows 95! :p

Well yes, you could create desktop widgets. I think that even worked in Win95 if you had IE4 installed. But then your whole computer became about as stable as IE4...

Agreed, what a stupid thing to put on your site. It was enough to stop me reading after the first time it came up. Just out of interest, is there any power saving benefit whatsoever gained from displaying black on a TFT screen? Surely the p

Except that's probably is most of the story. Seriously, PayPal do this kind of thing. I'm sure they do it to loads and loads of scammers (who presumably set up a whole lot of accounts) but they also do it to normal people just trying to use

I've lost the game files once so far and emailed them, they let me download them again which was nice. I wonder if it's possible for them to let you add it to your steam account after you've bought it through there website, I think steam ha

Parbo already pointed out F3 and F4 for the first part. For the second part (repeat it 40 times) you could use: M-4 M-0 F4 Which is only 4 characters, the same as VIM. Of course the F keys are a bit further to reach which can slow

As far as I'm aware complexity theory doesn't have it's own special definition of "infinite". Just to be clear, I'm totally in agreement with you that a lookup table based AI would not actually be possible in the real world, but I don't thi

The difference between infinite and "essentially infinite" is that one is infinite and one finite. That is a large number, but it's not infinitely large.
