This is a placeholder to show before you content has been loaded, so the size of your content is irrelevant. Also it doesn't depend on anything afaict, so not sure why you're casting FUD about size.

And I believe you. I still don't think that's a problem exclusive to Node. I've seen godawful, naive, insecure codebases written in C, C++ and PHP. I've talked to co-workers about similar experiences in Python, ColdFusio

If you're trying to achieve a workflow like 'Git Flow' [1], having everyone in your team attempt it manually with their own home-brew aliases is going to go very badly. [1] http://nvie.com/posts/a-success

None of this requires a conspiracy theory or 'snatching'. Assange is scared of being arrested, and once he is in custody, being extradited to the US somehow . The Sweden/UK details are irrelevant.

You're overthinking it. Assange only has to be afraid of being arrested, for fear of being extradited somehow . The specifics of the UK/Sweden situation really don't matter.

You missed the point, it's not supposed to be 'comparing' anything. See the thread I linked to. (Also 'performance' is a broad term that encompasses load time. If a page loads faster it performs better).

Sounds like you've mentally set up an adversarial relationship between yourself and 'them' (managers). This is only going to continue to drain you. Ideally, look for a job with a smaller commute or better attitude to remote w

I can choose not to use/give meaningful data to Google and Facebook, but I don't get to opt out of elected government. I agree with GPP that the 2 aren't really comparable.

Apparently, this site isn't intended to be a contest/perf-comparison. It's supposed to show that solid PWAs are doable with all of these frameworks. Looks like the authors are working on clarifying this: https://gi

Yeah PWAs (progressive web apps) are really not aimed at us devs with fancy MPBs and good connections. You should probably open devtools and throttle your connection to 3g or worse to get a feel for the problem area they're trying to h

Well let's assume he was scared of a random arrest before the allegations. He'd be extra scared when they emerged. Not sure what's to doubt.

You missed the point of all those questions (e.g. in 2 you don't mention how the schema change gets applied to the prod database). Unfortunately I'm frankly out of patience explaining any further, so we'll have to leave it th

Okay, so you changed the DB schema in your 'dev' environment to add a column. 1. In what manner/format do you define or commit the change to VCS so it is in sync with the corresponding code change (that uses the new column)?

Serverless just means "as the user of this service, you don't need to worry-about/think-in-terms-of 'servers'". It clearly doesn't mean 'no servers involved'.

Well no, installing 2 packages, one after the other from the command-line (as in that issue) is not the way you 'share builds' with npm. You do that via a package.json + 'npm shrinkwrap' "lockfile". Shrinkwrap

Yep, exactly what I do, +1 for using bootstrap's variables as much as possible too, I don't think a lot of people realise how powerful bootstrap's variables are, and can greatly cut down the amount of CSS you write.

Could I suggest adding 'use bootstrap properly' to this list (and perhaps link to [1] and/or the LESS/Sass source). Bootstrap is modular. There's no need for a 'light' alternative, and in many cases I beli
