I'm seeing lots of comments talking about how they will bring all this platinum down and it won't be worth anything but not very many people talking about using platinum as a raw material for something worth far more than just platinum. Wha

Most interesting part to me: "Production of 100 watt bulbs has ceased in the US and Europe. Production of 60 watt bulbs has been stopped in Europe and is being phased out in the US. From 2014, incandescent bulbs of 40 watts or above will b

It's fair to be skeptical of all these announcements but I can't help but think that batteries have gotten better over the last 15 years. Whether these improvements were "breakthroughs" or not is a matter of interpretation.

Possibly, but only if the subsequent classes do not also have the increased staffing costs. I guess my point is that just because this group learns how to assign variables doesn't mean they'll be able to program recursively, understand how

You make a number of good points but I want to respond to one thing - the failure of education. I think it may not be so much a failure of education as so much the economics of education. The use of a single curriculum reduces complexity an

This is really interesting - do you have any way to show things like most talked about (most good, most bad), etc? Nice layout, really easy to use!

Its probably worth saying that there is a big difference between moving from SV/SF to Seattle, Portland, or Austin, and moving to a small town of 1000 people in the middle of nowhere. Opportunity for career growth isn't the only factor in w

The place I've seen these libraries heavily used is for internal business web apps. Think in terms of replacing MS Access within an organization with web apps. Developers want a consistent platform to use and management wants to be able to

"...but imagine if you had a C-Path machine in every town or city." How near-sighted of the author. An article about computer vision, AI, machine learning, and no thoughts of tele-pathology or remote reading?

I'd add consumer brand confidence B&N vs Amazon. In this case B&N needs to overcome at least $50 worth of Amazon's influence to even the odds. Another thing I'd add is brick and mortar retail availability - in this case I believe th

Another approach to take - there are lawyers/groups that specialize in getting these things removed. It will probably cost anywhere from $500-$1000 but they will harass every party involved until someone slips up and the bureaus are forced

The author makes the mistake of equating market share with revenue - it is quite possible that Apple's 19% market share is makes more for them than Nokia at 24%, or even Nokia at 40%.
