Unfortunately, it may be that the robots in the video are also remote controlled. Why take Musk's word that they're autonomous? Once you know that Musk can and will lie and cheat, it kind of makes you skeptical.

Tesla's not doing so well either. SpaceX is very good at launching (and catching) rockets, but that's mostly Gwynne Shotwell.

That still seems pretty remarkable to me that they're able to do such complex things via remote control (wireless, with multiple robots in the room). I'd love to see what sort of setup the operators were using, and how much the ro

I dunno if the submitter actually read the article, but there's nothing about AI in there. They're replacing line judges with electronic sensors. They're actually late to the game, since other tennis venues have been doing th

He's absolutely right, transmission is the missing piece of the renewables puzzle. The grid needs to improve, and urgently. Hopefully his concept will be scalable, cost effective, and wildly popular!

This tool requires a paid subscription, but it doesn't say how much. The hardware is affordable, but the monthly fees may not be. Also, the hardware is only useful as long as the company's servers are up and running -- better hope

Seems to me that social app devs sound a bit entitled. If their business model depends on slurping up all my contacts, maybe they need to find a new line of work.

I think that tech bros are so used to the 'fake it till you make it' mentality that they just assumed that was the way to build AI -- create a system that is able to sound plausible, even if it doesn't really understand the s

Maybe not mind-blowing, but it sounds like a cost-effective and reliable solution. And the 20MW is for a single plant, the proposal talks about multiple plants at the same site. No, it's certainly not the perfect end-all solution, but

That headline is a bit misleading. What the astronauts actually said is that they didn't have enough time to test Starliner when it was docked to the ISS when trying to determine if it was a safe ride home. It's undoubtedly true t

The author seems to think that the poor are at fault for being poor. When you're trying to survive on the edge, you need quick and easy solutions. You don't have the luxury to plan ahead, stock up, etc. So if there's a grocer

SpaceX is facing two big obstacles. First, going to Mars requires refueling in orbit, and that's not trivial to accomplish. Secondly, if they have to wait months between test launches due to regulatory issues, that's going to slow

Cameras (and camera software) get better. Other than that, I totally agree. And if you're not much into photography, that may not matter. I probably only use 10-15% of the features anyway.
