I downloaded it (and paid for it!) but it's fussy to use, and perhaps a bit buggy but it's hard to tell. There's apparently 2 zones that fire the shutter, and just one touch takes multiple photos. Also, there's a lot of

Sex scenes are a form of pandering, but not the only one. Rare is the modern film that doesn't use some cheap mechanism to get audience response.

Sounds like a particularly stupid use of AI, along with the implied claim that AI output is "art." Although I guess you could claim that the use of AI, together with the audience's reaction, is a form of conceptual art, as in

This is a great example of a ham-fisted regulatory response to a real problem. Colleges have no control over what graduates earn. Presumably, applicants evaluate colleges based on their career choices, and the successful track record of for

That ad exec certainly had a myopic point of view. Just like the old saying, "If you wear shoes, the world is covered with leather." For sure, our economy depends on buying and selling, and buying and selling depends on advertisin

The concept of "honesty" implies a conscious agent who is making some kind of moral decision. This is anthropomorphizing plain and simple. What would constitute a "dishonest" mistake? Deliberate deception? An LLM would h

Ah, America, once the most advanced scientific nation in the world. It's a profoundly sad reflection on the US that these people were chosen to be our leaders. They're not just ignorant, they're willfully stupid, and proud of

So, like an Echo except smarter? Or is this more about hooking people psychologically so they think the AI is their "friend?"

Ah, the anonymous "doctor" again. He sounds very scientific until he goes off on some weird tangent, usually about the dangers of vaccines.

Post-scarcity? Sure, if you live in a first-world country and are upper middle class or higher. These tech-bro pundits have a very limited world view. The basic essentials of life are very scarce for millions and millions of people, and AI

A browser isn't just a bunch of code that runs on your local machine. Security, maintainability, etc. depend on a development organization behind it, and these needs will only increase as the usage scales. You really need an ecosystem,

This is a good post about the importance of being focused on your customers and your market when you are trying to decide if a product is viable. However, even though it may be realistically possible to build a product in a matter of weeks,

There are very few manufacturers of hard drives, and LaCie isn't one of them. They package drives in very nice cases and cater to the Mac crowd. This is far from a mystery, and certainly not worth noting.

I recommend ICDSoft. They're cheap, zero hassle, and competent, and they respond to support emails very quickly. I've been their customer for years, and they've only gotten better.

If you were seriously trying to patent some AI-created invention, why would you claim it was created by AI? You would simply put your own name on it. This was obviously a case of pushing the envelope to see how far he could go.
