Geekbench is self-reported, unverified information. Anyone could post arbitrary benchmark results for any chip.

Travel, hospitality, and events are something like 20% of the US economy. That 20% will be crushed until we have a vaccine next year at the earliest. I am deeply suspicious of this prediction.

I disagree. Even the weakest form of MFA (click this link sent to your email to set an authorization cookie) prevents stuffing attacks, and is still available to anyone.

Service providers have an obligation to mitigate credential stuffing. Zoom failed to do so. They should use MFA but at the very least they should prohibit the use of leaked passwords.

We are all likely to be wearing PPE like this after the lockdowns are relaxed. Widespread testing + PPE use is the only chance we have to return to something normal before a vaccine is available.

People have misconceptions about the virus regardless. Fever checks are not the cause.

"False sense of security" is a frequently misapplied concept. Your post is such an example. Something that reduces a risk (e.g. virus spread) by 5% provides very real security improvements. There is nothing "false" about

CCP deserves no credit for buying time. Any other government would have tried to stop the virus instead of trying to cover it up while it spreads far and wide.

Viruses live in droplets. Droplets are greatly reduced by cotton masks (that's why they feel damp after a while).

The CDC itself says cotton masks (bandanas, scarves) help: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/ppe-strategy/f...

Your position is just another that has yet to catch on to the fact of asymptomatic transmission. There are countless sources indicating this is happening. Just take the time to read one.

The "masks don't help" campaign is well-intended disinformation aimed at preserving medical masks for medical practitioners. It is now proven that people with no symptoms spread the virus. Breathing virus into a cotton sheet

That might be the worst idea I've ever heard. Shutting down the supply lines during a pandemic would have disastrous consequences for everyone.

This will be the fastest economic decline ever (by fiat!) but not the longest. One way or another it will be over in a couple years max. Perhaps much sooner if we develop an effective vaccination, treatment, or tracking program.

It occurs to me that antibodies for diseases would make an interesting approach to age estimation. In the 1918 flu older people were spared. This is presumed to be due to the fact that they had an immunity due to an exposure in their own yo

That analysis is true according to precedent. But we are experiencing an unprecedented event. That said, eventually we will have a vaccine, anti-viral, or effective test&quarantine system; and the time to buy is BEFORE we have this unde

If this spreads widely enough and quickly enough the numbers we have point to a death rate that isn't even in the same ballpark as traffic fatalities. There are 7 billion people on this planet and none of them have immunity to this.
