From what I can tell, many/most of my “telemarketing” calls are really scams. And the rest are political calls, which are exempt. This the most annoying, come election time, I get 5-6 texts or calls per day asking for money or votes.

Visit Loudoun County VA and get back to me. Virginia mostly used by-right zoning, which treated data centers like just another office block. The result is linked below. Those cranes in the back of photo 2 are building yet another data cen

That's true, but doesn't really negate the principle... the set of layers is just different. If you're heading to that high elevation where it's mostly cold, you probably don't need to bring shorts on the off chanc

Yes, tobacco companies knew the health risks at least back tot he 70s, if not the 50s or 60s. And in the late 70s, they launched Operation Berkshire as a bulwark against negative press and government regulation. They have literally been fou

You'd think so but not even a decade ago Kansas tried it again and it failed and the GOP continues to cut taxes for the wealthy and people keep electing them. Most of the nation (and world) never took any economics. This stuff is all m

Yeah, if you don't need to track laps at all, that works. But if I'm doing an interval set on the road in January, it's a terrible UX.

The Apple Watch is definitely fashion accessory first and fitness device second. I can't use it running in the colder seasons - a sweaty sleeve triggers the lap count (tap the screen - no ability to reassign to a button). It's on

Clearly the NOTAMs aren't doing the job, as this isn't the only instance of issues. It's just the only instance of a crash with fatalities.

You're not wrong, but that doesn't necessarily mean Uncle Sam should be dicking around with GPS jammers as a normal thing (at least not without acknowledging that doing so changes the risk profile of aviation to some extent).

In reality, juries often hold evidence like this in high regard, based on how it's positioned on CSI:Some-City television.

Like Susan Collins, I shall furrow my brow to indicate my unease with the situation. Kidding, sort of, if brownshirts and other government-sanctioned thugs show up in November, I'm really not sure what I'll do. They're alread

How close does a DNA "match" have to be to get somebody tossed in jail? Do they actually require 100%, or is a "match" something less? What's the false-positive rate? Would a non-twin sibling's DNA "match

It'll be a marginal effect, but fake clicks impacts the ad buyer, which then impacts their financials and pricing. The only winner here is the scammers running the fake affiliate sites on which these sticks are "clicking". O

Point is the median person earns about the same as the mean disposable income. So the mean disposable income isn’t telling us too much about the quality of life, or financial state, of a typical American. From what I’m seeing, it’s just ref

Citation? Median earnings is less than that. And median household income is only marginally more. the U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the median annual earnings for all workers (people aged 15 and over with earnings) was $51,370; and mo

Carjackings ramped up in 2021 through 2024. They appear to be headed back down the "low and steady" of the early 00s. Looking at the numbers, DC isn't alone in this trend - Chicago was pretty bad as well.

The -300s in use by Aer Lingus are a bit newer than that (but the 200s they use for west coast routes are in fact ~20 years old), but not by much. IAG has orders for 21 A330Neos, which, I believe, retain the 2-4-2 layout in economy.

That flight was an odd bird from the outset. It didn't have the range to make NY in a single go, so it stopped in Shannon Ireland to refuel, where passengers deplaned, went through US Preclearance, and rebounded. IIRC, the US->UK
