Too bad it doesn't have Wi-Fi. Back when Apple Silicon appeared and DDC wasn't working anymore with the old methods [0] I tried creating a DDC-over-WiFi board using ESP32 + spliced HDMI cable with the I²C wires connected for Lunar

Yes, I use it alongside Raycast. File search and acting on files is a lot more intuitive in Alfred, and the default results are tweaked to my needs so I usually don’t even need to activate a workflow. I just ⌘ space and search for an app&#x

Of course, the OS is not without its problems. That could be related to a macOS bug where the I/O registry view of an app gets stuck, which appeared recently in Ventura and latest Monterey. But that usually is fixed by restarting Lunar

In my experience DDC was always flaky. I've started working with DDC a bit more than 5 years ago, but I've talked to people that did this both on Windows and Linux and they had the same experiences. Most of the time it's not

In case you or anyone else needs to disable the MacBook screen and still use the mic, camera, keyboard, trackpad etc. I added a feature called BlackOut in my Lunar app that can do that ( https://lunar.fyi/#blackout ). This al

I've gone back to using a thin waxed paper (like the ones you find in shoe boxes) between the keyboard and the screen when closing the lid. It's a bit annoying, but I'm sick of getting delamination after 1 year. I got this

Maybe try my Lunar app ( https://lunar.fyi/ ) if you’re on macOS. It can switch inputs using DDC if the monitor implements the VCP code for it, and it can assign a hotkey and a specific brightness/contrast for the input

Those aren’t app files, they are user configuration files. They can’t be created inside the app bundle because the app is signed, and any modification will invalidate the signature. There’s also the matter of permissions, some apps may be i

I never had macOS remove those files automatically when dragging the app to the trash. I still have files left from 4 MacBooks ago (for apps I haven’t installed in a long time) because I’m always migrating the home folder. I guess they’re
