It's a step forward. If someone makes an app which is some Electron/WebView thing and call it "native", my thoughts are immediately rather illegal. Cool, so it's UI framework that doesn't actually make a webpag

What's native about it? It seems like custom GPU rendered thingy with nothing "native". Linux GUI frameworks are hot potato, I tried to write "native-feeling" app with taskbar icon lately on Linux (Cinnamon), intuit

I'm currently downloading Ollama and going to write a simple proof-of-concept with Qwen as local "frontend", talking to OpenAI GPT as "backend". I think the idea is sound, but indeed needs retraining of GPT (hmm lik

Either this already exists, or someone is going to implement that (should I implement that?): - assumption LLM can input/output in any useful language, - human languages are not exactly optimal away to talk with LLM, - internally LLMs

I quit. The clankers won. I don't see any proof that software development is not dead. Software engineering is not, and it's much more than writing code, and it can be fun. But writing code is dead, there is no point of doing

I did it once, I'm pretty much sure Tim did not read the email, why would he, someone in his team did. I had an awful experience with AASP, no computer, no fix, no timelines (and money was tight), tried to escalate as much as I could a

I know it's bad, but yeah, I just hate waiting, it's stupid. So whenever I can I just go through "first class" security and nothing bad happens, just skipping the queue. Look decent, look busy, keep on walking and bam yo

CrossOver support of Lightroom is just as bad a wine... Realistically it will take $20-50k of dev work to make it work (and some other apps as a side effect).

I would happily pay even a subscription to Wine, if they manage to get Lightroom running smoothly. So far I need to run VM or use a Mac just to do that.

This looks like a very guest-hostile intercom, I would just stare at it and read instructions, then read them again, then think why is it A and Z and not up and down... And also why I cannot just enter the number. At some point I would give

It's 2026, serving semi-static webpages should be a solved problem for at least 30 years. I'm still puzzled that HN-hug-of-death is a thing.
