You would think GoPro would see this coming. If I were CEO of the review company, I would demand that the article be reinstated and hope to God that GoPro sued me so I could get some extra cash and teach them a lesson. What on Earth were

So developer comfort takes precedence over user choice? Or are you saying options are just way more difficult to implement than they are worth (considering the small proportion of users actually take advantage of them)?

What's wrong with giving users options? I think it's an insult to peoples' intelligence. Cars give users the option to drive into a brick wall at 80 MPH, but this doesn't mean people will be inclined to do so.

Yeah. Aesthetically, the black bar with its fat Arial (I think) characters looks out of place. I know they're trying to keep things simple to make their page load time super fast, but if someone can make the Matrix in JS with like 700 bytes

+1 for slides 18, 51, and, best of all, 54. Great presentation :)

I actually think it would be better without the navbar. Google is my homepage, but when I want to go to Google Drive or Gmail, I type "drive" or "mail" into Chrome's search bar. I think the Chrome-OS-like menu would be better than the nav

Great post. Those super-early adopters are awesome. I consider myself lucky that, as a high school senior and one-man team who utilizes free software and services like AWS EC2, I don't feel compelled to amass a userbase to put dinner on the

Well that's just messed up. I have no problem with Microsoft's market dominance; I just think they're a problem since they give the finger to our freedom of choice.

Good to know. I'm seriously considering some ways to cut down on the overhead, so this is great.

We're just waiting for a really smart simulation programmer with access to a super-powerful computer to create a simulation of a small, earth-like world so we can watch as accelerated evolution creates some human-like (or not) being with a

You're right, but I never use the grid stuff anyway; I only want to invest time in learning about something if it's not framework/vendor-locked, so to speak, so I'd rather just use the elements and do the scaffolding myself. Glyphicons are

Yeah, but I'm a broke high school senior (1-man team), so I'm sort of forced to take advantage of free stuff like Bootstrap and the free year of Amazon EC2. Bootstrap is definitely useful if you're just tinkering - it makes a minimum viabl

Not everyone is a HTML/CSS hacker. It's a really valuable front-end framework. My app wouldn't look nearly as professional without it.

Not sure if I like this at all. I think they need to call it Bootstrap 3: flat and fat! It just seems like a huge step back to me. It's not even an elegant "flat" design; it's like they scrapped everything and decided to make all classes (e

I thought Outliers by Malcom Gladwell was a good book, but maybe it's an exception. It really shed some new light on life in general, so I'm glad I read it as a high school junior. It's ignorant to write off an entire genre of books, even i

It's simple and elegant. I might have to grab it on my iPhone. And as others have said, it's a great idea to offer it online to give prospective users a taste of the game. Now I can see if it's challenging enough to be worth my time :P

I made a website called http://tunejet.net that lets people play MP3s on virtually any platform that runs Chrome (including iOS). You can either store your songs in a public Dropbox folder or another server and point tunejet to the URLs,
