NPM doesn't have the same problem, because they only allow a single file per release (which also means there is no way to distribute platform-specific builds).

Some people are saying the syntax is ugly, and I agree. But it addresses a real problem in Python: the names of the arguments of your public functions are also part of your public API (since they can be called as kwargs). In my experience,

I suspect that the manufacturing costs for many medical devices are quite low, e.g. stints, but this is not public data to my knowledge. But the manufacturers make a killing because they charge a high price.
