Why every release of Rust appears on HN? (meanwhile Python, Node, Ruby, Perl, PHP, etc... don't enjoy that same treatment)

So much down votes... Why people in HN don't have any sense of humor?

I read somewhere that 90% of the internet is porn. If that is correct, then at least 90% of the internet is fake. (because you don't really believe that that pizza guy actually made that beauty fall in love with him, right?)

There is one thing I'm completely sure about. Code quality is an order of magnitude worse. I'm not really sure why, but that's how it is. With a few exceptions, the norm is to get a shit show every time something is outsource

Not going to happen. Google will abandon Flutter in less than 5 years, as it has done will all the rest of the projects...

Is there anywhere I can find actual numbers in terms of performance gains from running NGINX like this vs "the usual way"?

Ah, indeed. If you count "open dev shell, manually edit globally exposed variables so that it will affect only my browser" then yes, you can have that as runtime configuration.

You can't have runtime configuration on the frontend because the frontend is running on the client (browser). The best you can get is build-time configuration that embeds in the SPA.

Oh my fscking god... the comments in this thread are just... It's like trying to explain to a 5 years old why candys are not free... If it's behind a paywall, it's because the creators want you to pay for the content. It does

How about paying? That will let you do more, in less time, and won't require an extra browser plugin, which means that it will use even less resources than using a plugin to bypass the paywall.

Your lawnmower (your website) is in your backyard (your servers). If I go to your backyard (your servers) and I get/use your lawnmower (your website), I'm 1) trespassing privet property (the paywall) and 2) using something that I&

The same reason why I can't just get your lawnmower even if it's visible, in your backyard.

Bypassing paywalls is a "more efficient user experience"? Wow... that's a whole new level...

Yeah. That's the point. I won't go into the subject of discussing if that is legal or not, but for sure it's not ethical. That said, you're free to try to get around easy "protections", Mozilla is free to take

Okey. So how about respecting the right of those who use paywalls to get money for the content they create? Just because something is on the internet doesn't give you the holly right of getting it for free.

How about stop the development? The fact that you can break the paywall (easily) doesn't give you the right to do it. Current laws (in that country) state that it's ilegal, so why do you insist in doing it?

I guess that's the result when a Rust developer does the job of a Web dev.

You can down vote me, but I just see a proof of concept, nowhere near a final market-ready product. Just look at how they present it. Semidark scene, no details whatsoever.
