But isn’t “passively buying the index” still exposed to this, at least if you’re not buying “equal weight” version? Dividend stocks sounds even more appealing to me, I read that as “companies that are generating stable profits now ”.

I’m curious: are you spending on beefy developer machines, or some kind of shared local inference server? Would be interested to know more if it’s the latter.

Even though I agree with other commenters that calling out websites as AI slop based on the copywriting and "generic LLM-generated look" is getting tiring, I can't deny that this was my immediate reaction to it as well. On th

My domain registrar also hosts DNS, and supports dynamic DNS entries. Ticking a box gives me an update URL and a username, which I can then enter into my UniFi router. How is this different?

I use Infomaniak for personal domains, along with DNS. I really want to like them. But their management UI is just... horrible? Also the product offering feels increasingly unfocused, with kSuite and kDrive.

Glad to hear you’re still among us. I have fond memories of reading The Cuckoo’s Egg as a teenager in the 90s. It for sure played its part in steering me towards a CompSci education. Thanks and greetings from Switzerland!

GitLab is getting ensh*ttified as well. Rarely a day passes when they’re not trying to somehow push their AI features on me, even though I never asked for it. Thinking about moving to managed Forgejo.

I'm in the market for a self-hosted or European cloud alternative to Confluence and Trello. Anything that folks can recommend? It's for a small software shop, so no Enterprisey stuff required.
