Sorry, did you say you were prescribed temazepam as a sleep aid? I only thought this was used for chronic pain suffers to aid sleep. I know my grandfather was on it as without it the pain kept him awake indefinitely.

There was some real forethought in the design and layout of the cars in general but the dashboard display is perfect. I wonder if it's true when people say they took elements from the jet aircraft they made.

I don't know. A lot of Tory voters today will have medical complaints and be informed enough about medical cannabis to want to try it. Recreational use would be nice, but I'd be less angry with the world if we got medicinal use th

A single, quite long and skinny Yagi! Guy in my radio club is attempting this. Very cool stuff.

Surely this will burst when the cost of the scooters lowers to the point you can easily afford one? If people hunt around for them, surely owning one would be preferable? I'd more than likely just fall off and hurt myself.

Sorry I don't follow your comment. I see the misunderstanding I left myself open to, I wasn't trying to suggest Andy hasn't achieved anything. Far from it.

My comment wasn't necessarily about Andy, more that it's possible to be incredibly wealthy yet not have any feeling of satisfaction or achievement. Getting rich is nice (I'd assume) but I don't think many people feel man

You can still be stinking rich yet unfulfilled in life. Money isn't everything.

Definitely. Agree with you on both points. Maybe I find it strange as commenting on your downvotes is shunned, but it's largely OK to downvote something without explanation. This is only HN after all and I'm very comfortable being

It is discouraged yes, but also it's human nature to want to understand why ones opinion isn't popular. I have seen previously my own posts be downvoted with no comments given and no clear idea of what I was doing to displease the

Some very good suggestion there, thanks for taking the time to reply. I'd not even thought about something like the MIT course or indeed Khan Academy but looks like a good route to a better understanding. Thanks again!

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't fancy any practical stuff, I am dangerous enough with a soldering iron! Looks like a good resource though to get the fundamentals in, thanks! I really enjoy Cody's Lab on YT and would like to hav

As someone who didn't apply themselves to Chemistry at school, what is the best way to get a decent understanding of the basics. I love the physics I can understand and would like to know more than nothing about chemistry.

Thank you for your comment, spot on about our British reservations. Also interesting point about cats and dogs being domesticated. I'd say to a large degree most animals farmed are in some way domesticated and wouldn't be able to

I thought the advanced covered a fair amount, basics of transistors, understanding decibels etc. Everyone is different however and it may indeed not be the right course for everyone.

Yeah, although a life long vegetarian I've done a small amount of work with systems for butchers. Personally, I agree with others in this thread that eating pig is really no different than dog, cat etc. looking at things objectively. B
