Grammar-naziism is a part of reddit culture, and one of the reasons they still have relatively erudite discourse given the size of their userbase. I think it's a net positive, and only natural that it would come out in this AMA.

Users need a huge amount of trust to use a service like this. The notification about running on free quota and submitting bug reports does not engender this trust.

What is your algorithm for shading here? It seems like brightness is partially provided by the density of the characters (eg, '8' vs '.', as in normal ascii art), but also partially by the color of the characters.

minor nitpick: a cubic liter is not a thing. Liters are already measures of volume.

Can someone enlighten me as to why "pure CSS" is seen as the pinnacle of web design? It seems that for problems involving a computational element like this, Javascript would be much more concise and readable. Having said that, it is beautif

Somehow I don't think this is the main sticking point preventing the US from ratifying the nuclear test ban treaty, as the article seems to suggest.

This kind of invective has no place on HN. While valid points can be made about the lack of testing of flash on lion, the ill-supported headline, and repeated use of "FAIL" in the post only show laziness on the part of the author, not Adobe

But it would be odd if the FBI was clueless enough to take an entire rack of servers when they were after just 1, yet smart enough to pick exactly the right drives out of a disk array. (assuming thats even possible)

Well, to be fair, you actually need a whole array of (micro)lenses, so 2 lenses sounds pretty reasonable.

This would be an interesting problem to solve algorithmically. If you could get a map of ATM locations and population density.

Yes, I think 2 negatives make a positive here, and the situation where you do want to draw attention to a misplaced [sic] is so rare that it warrants further discussion in your text.

What happens if the instruction pointer for, say, process A, steps into the code space for another process, B? Does the simulator treat it as an illegal instruction causing A to lose? Or does process A continue, but executing B's code?

The article's description of the Schrödinger's cat thought-experiment is one of the worst I have ever heard. It makes it sound like someone is actually killing cats in boxes to prove some part of quantum physics.

Assuming these inept candidates are not Frank Abagnale types just doing it for the thrill, I wonder how they are expecting the job to actually turn out. I mean what was the guy expecting to do all day if he couldn't write a single line of c

Ionizing radiation is radiation that has enough energy to knock electrons off atoms to create ions. This can cause all sorts of damage to DNA etc. Radiation with less energy is unable to affect the structure of matter in this way, and is th

It seems that, depending on the amount of profile info on your profile. (Lives in X, went to school at Y, etc.) The small photos may not be exactly aligned with the main pic. I'm not sure if there is any way to control for that.
