I didn't read it as an argument for any particular environment or world view. I read it as an argument that certain people online need to pull their head out of their ass when they're proclaiming why others would be as successful as them if

I'm sure it is, but it doesn't seem like a bright business decision. He claims he spends up to $20K a year - sure, maybe this still isn't worth it to AT&T. But more importantly, you'd think they would see this as an opportunity to mak

Is there any reason to believe that Time, WSJ, etc., DIDN'T do any fact checking on the name they printed?

This headline is a jarring example of the "echo chamber" (it's usually something about Twitter). I think few people outside Silicon Valley could write it with a straight face (not none, but few).

I've never owned an Apple product before last year, so I'm not making any comment about their durability, one way or another. My point is this: go and survey today's Apple users, and ask them what they like about the products, or why they d

Not really, most web apps are just CRUD (and MVC if you're lucky). What percentage of all web apps (remember, this includes apps that are only ever used on a corporate intranet) ever get to tackle scaling or data mining?

I still think Douglas Adams explained it best. "Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space." In
