You know, it is pretty easy to kill someone. That doesn't mean it's morally acceptable, let alone legal. It doesn't matter how easy it is to copy the photograph. It's still not morally acceptable or legal. And yet, people still kill each

I know, I know, "things were better back in the day", but the Reddification of Reddit has really accelerated over the past year and a bit. Between rage comics, advice animals, and the Atheism subreddit, the default front page is a very dif

Bad products, horrible software That seems strongly overstated. I don't use a BlackBerry, but nothing about RIM's products strikes me as bad or horrible. They are, at worst, uninspired products in a market with much stronger competitors

The problem with that argument is that it requires voters to trust their representatives' competence and motivations to represent their best interests behind closed doors. That trust is in really short supply right now.

That seems to be between you and Google. If paying for Google Apps doesn't result in having reliable video hosting, then Google's service may not be worth it. UMG's "rights" don't really come into it if this is a voluntary agreement betwe

This stuff seems to work incredibly well on Steam - I don't see why it wouldn't help here. The big value isn't just the front-page promotion, it's also the time limited sale for a bargain price. I suspect the main effect in the long term w

What's wrong with self promotion? It can make the signal-to-noise ratio unbearable. It cheapens the community, and makes it less interesting and useful. Who else is going to promote you for free? People who genuinely like your product.

All I see are a bunch of self-promotional trolls, on both sides of the "issue". Is setting up an entire website really a proportionate response to a dumb tweet? (Obviously, it is if you're stirring up controversy). Seriously, guys... don't

I haven't worked much with OAuth on the iPhone, but what I hate is that, when it's embedded in apps, it makes phishing attempts pretty much undetectable for end users. I see a Facebook login form pop up in a UIWebView in an app - is it rea

There's been grumbling from some labels that don't feel Spotify is worth it. Hard to tell if it's a full-blown implosion, though. http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/permalink/2011/111110distrib... http://digitalmusicnews.com/stories/081011

A similar argument can be made about original paintings, versus prints, versus (not really there yet, but can't be too far off) full-size, HD digital painting displays. You have the information, and you have the physical object used to repr
