I prefer Simon Tatham’s version[1]. It’s free, and configurable, and available online, and multiplatform. But the best thing about it is that you can always win, if you use deduction. As such, it’s more a puzzle than a game of chance. 1.

Don’t read the book. Listen to it. I got a lot out of listening to a performance of the book, by Irish actors on RTE. It’s a lot more fun than reading the book. There’s a podcast for it: https://www.rte.ie/culture/2

Another thing that’s changed since young boomers roamed the earth is soil depletion. Decades of farming the heartland in the US midwest have used up all the zinc and boron and other minerals in the soil. If you consult the USDA food table

Yet another sign of how a great city has declined over the years! When I lived in Montreal in the 80s, it was the car theft capital of the country. Now that title belongs to Toronto. In case you hadn’t heard, car theft is so bad in Toront

Of course Simon Tatham’s puzzle collection includes this one. He calls it “rectangle”. You can configure the game to leave spaces around the numbers, which increases the difficulty. There’s a web based version here: https://ww

The problem is that fentanyl is very strong, and drug traffickers have very poor quality controls. The LD50 is 0.03 mg/kg in monkeys, so if humans are like monkeys, a 70 kg human has a 50% chance of dying after ingesting 2 mg of fenta

There’s also the “comes from” operator: while (x < — - 10) { … } In fact, you can make arrows longer: while (x <— — — — - 10) And you can make thicker arrows with plus signs: while (x ++++> 10) (hmmm… the HN text formatter is
