IIUC, your implementation does not solve the same problem. The OP's implementation automatically determines the correct format string from the type of the variable. So you can simply do: LOG_EXPR(some_int); LOG_EXPR(some_float); LOG_EXPR(so

Thank God! Their editor was horrendous for applying any kind of precise formatting. I stopped using Posterous because of it, now I will happily be able to try it again!

Agreed. BumpTop with a touch based interface would be much more appealing than a mouse. Seems like a good fit.

This application is useful for resizing and moving: http://coderage-software.com/zooom/index.html However, it's kind of ordinary that you have to pay $15 to get functionality that should be included in the WM.

I don't know if this is your problem, but Chrome on Linux has some memory leaks that occasionally put my 2GB desktop into swap. Luckily I can use the Chrome task manager to find the offending tab and kill it.

I always thought Cellulose ( http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Cellulose/0.2 ) was an interesting idea, though haven't done anymore than play around with it.

I also think this was one of the factors in PHP's popularity. Its documentation was (is?) excellent.

At my two previous employers, that's exactly what they do. All machines are completely locked-down. I suspect this is not unusual at large, more traditional corporations.

I can't comment on the veracity of Telstra's speed claims, but Optus' are a complete joke. Most of the time I'm lucky to get even modem level speeds out of my 3G card, let alone 3.2Mbps. Once again, the schpiel quotes the theoretical maximu

I've found PyGTK is a joy to use, but the major downside for me is that it doesn't use native controls. It mimics them with a theme on Windows, so presumably it looks okay (though I suspect it misses the finer details). But on OSX, with its
