It's likely a bad idea to use the Google cache of "jquery". It's likely a good tradeoff to use the Google cache of "jquery x.y.z" on the assumption that they won't change it. The Go convention is to the former.

I don't think it would be very useful to have RSS feeds in Google Now. I like Google Now because it tells me what I want to know right now , like that my flight is delayed or traffic is bad or here's how to get to that restaurant and you

Google makes money by showing ads to people who want to buy things. If everyone goes to eBay and Amazon instead of Google to buy things, no one will buy ads from Google. If Google can provide a compelling alternative to eBay and Amazon, the

Evernote has taken hundreds of millions in funding over the course of five years. How they going to justify that investment with some portion of their 11 million users paying $45/year? Are they going to sell? If they sell, will the servi

What about Go makes it easy to manage and refactor large codebases? I don't do much Java, but whenever I've watched someone use Eclipse for refactoring, I question why I'm still using vim, because it is just magic and does everything for y

I regularly use the SSH client. I wouldn't call it wonderful; it works, but that's about it. Highlight a wrapped line? GNOME Terminal will Do The Right Thing, Chrome's SSH client won't and gives you a newline. See a URL? GNOME Terminal

My bank knows about most of my purchases, but it is still considered private data. My health care provider knows about my medical history, but it is still considered private data. Why should a cell phone provider be any different?

I expect that the utility of this drops as more people use it - if a bunch of people get a notification about a cheap flight, and there are only two seats at that price, most people are going to be unhappy.

Completely off-topic to optimizing Go, but you may want to look at smem - it does what you implemented (including looking through a subset of processes) but includes a few more useful measures of memory usage that help in the presence of mu

Both Hipmunk and Google Flight Search help you sort out bad flights in ways that other websites don't - Hipmunk calls this "agony". To see this in Google Flight Search, scroll down to the bottom of a results list, you'll see something like

If you do mileage runs, you probably know about matrix.itasoftware.com, but in case you don't - visit http://matrix.itasoftware.com/?showPricePerMile=true and then do your search to see and sort by price per mile.

I have a Galaxy Nexus, last year's version of the Nexus 4. One thing I value about it is the Google/non-carrier-controlled experience, which I expect is similar to what you've had with an iPhone. There's not vendor crap on it and it gets

LevelDB is a sorted string table; cdb is a hash table. Without knowing anything more about the implementation, I expect that arbitrary lookups are slower in LevelDB than cdb.

If you're searching in the US, give Google Flight Search a try - it has a data/price graph that will let you filter by departure/arrival time, and it's instant.

Google Flight Search has a calendar view: it's hidden behind the button directly to the right of the return date and lets you play with different departure date and trip lengths.

I work at Google on flight search and was at ITA before that. We indeed continue to use Common Lisp. QPX, the flight search engine, uses SBCL.

gcc's error messages, especially for C++ templates, got much better in 4.5. They don't have pretty colors, but I didn't find a substantial benefit from clang 2.9's vs gcc 4.5's for C++ development when using both for a week. Note that if y

Check the first comment in the article - I can't believe that is actually good and idiomatic. The author uses the indexes, but the range command also supports returning the values. To be fair, I have a lot of difficulty figuring out what's
