If I am not mistaken, aparapi included some templates where those low-level aspects were hidden. The runtime can be added via a jar file, but lambda-based operations must be converted to OpenCL/Cuda/PTX/LLVM or other low-leve

Back in 2010 I worked on a user-library and preprocessor that did the same thing [1]. Had exactly the same restrictions. Classes are supported if they act as dumb structs. Recursion is now supported in CUDA via dynamic parallelism (or fakin

Given how large those systems are, how much layers (OS) of code there are, and the turn-over in software companies, I am pretty confident that no single engineer know everything about.

I am a PhD in CS, specifically in Programming Languages and Parallel Programming and I believe I do get scientific computing. Most people doing it did not have a formal CS education. They are biology, physics, mathematics or chemistry major

Years ago I played notpr0n, which is a puzzle very similar, in which you use links, urls and other web-based "locks" to advance to the next level. http://notpron.org/notpron/ It is also interesting for non-ge

I tested the machine at Codebits and I had that same first impression. But after a while I got it: it was the pedal tuning and not some communication delay.

Yes, you should use unit tests in FP. Traditionally you build larger functions on top of small ones, and you might change the later. Unit tests guarantee that the larger functions still work after those changes. Also, in Haskell, I prefer t

My solution is a bit plainer and simpler: I read the feeds (and email) before I surf the web. So your problem doesn't arise. This has much to with your habits. I usually first open Email, Feeds, Twitter and FB and open in new tabs the artic
