You're overcomplicating it. It's just Capitalism. Someone made a $5B bet and it didn't payoff. It's nothing more than that.

Netflix Where can I read about the storage drives used at Netflix? I know there’s info on the Gbps they push, and using AMD chips, and FreeBSD. But I haven’t read anything about their storage setup.

Short answer: you don't - it's no different than if you worked in an office. (most companies don't allow bringing your baby to the office, why would WFH be any different)

It's less of a habit and more indication of a matured business. Their revenue has only been growing ~5% (and slowing to just 1% most recent quarter). When you aren't growing, you must focus on operation efficiencies. Rule of 40, n

Since the only real difference is number of GPUs, it'd be: - photo/video editing - games, or - AI (training / inference) that would benefit from the extra GPUs.

I guess that implies the MacBook Air won't be updated this week. Makes me wonder what else will be updated this week (Studio or Mac Pro)?

National Geographic even created a TV show 5-years ago specifically on this topic. "Lost Cities with Albert Lin" (2019) It's an 11-episode show where they use Lidar in each episode to find lost cities. https://www.

Lidar has been finding a lot of lost cities. Not discounting this finding. It's just becoming more common.

It's not just RAM. It's Unified RAM. So that memory is also used for the GPU & Neural Cores (which is for Apple Intelligence). This is actually why companies moved away from the unified memory arch decades ago. It'll be

Where do you see the 14-core version detailed on the spec sheet? I don't see it stated with the specific P vs E cores are for the 14-core version on: https://www.apple.com/mac-mini/specs/

No M4 on the spec sheet. Maybe Apples CDN cache is stale but I only see M2 specs on that page.

Apple would rather you buy a Studio Display. If a 27" iMac did exist, it makes the comparison to the Studio Display now a bit odd - because they'd both cost roughly the same price but one has a computer and one doesn't.

Does it though? The iMac is basically the same as the M4 iPad Pro, and the iPad Pro doesn't have a chin.
