I read up on the court case, and the ruling was that you couldn’t require people to have (in this case) a high school diploma without it having a defensible relevancy to performing the job. I do not understand your argument.

You’re still buying into the myth/propaganda that higher education is only good because it makes someone more employable by providing skills (and/or connections) important for job-seeking. Wouldn’t you much rather create and live

Do you think everyone who has gained an education should then be burdened by an inescapable bondage to a particular high-paying career? What if they decided they would rather be a teacher? A musician and band director? A serial backpacker?

I posted this deeper in the comments, but since it’s so directly relevant to the topic at hand: http://www.salon.com/2014/06/08/colleges_are_full_of_it_behi... This Salon article says: “Tuition is up 1,200 pe

I am afraid you are wrong there. It’s a myth that the reason we have public funding of higher education is to help people get nice jobs. We have public funding of higher education because a better educated populace is a better democracy and

I really wanted to go to MIT, but I couldn’t believe my eyes when they were bragging that average student debt after graduation was “only” the price of a brand-new minivan or sports coupe.

I think so, because I don’t think "updates" are a thing: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11440659 But I wish they would clarify this, either way.

Something that’s bothering me is: Is there any way to deploy via `now` with secrets? You know: API keys or the like? `_src` is always public in the free plan and I don’t see any documentation around providing environment variables.

No, it doesn’t. Elements of it are great. The design screams “We’re programmers too,” which is great. But as the comments on this page attest, this landing page does a simply horrible job of introducing what `now` actually does.

I see. They shouldn’t use the word “reproducible” then, because something is either reproducible or it’s not. If they just mean, “We ignore everything but your package.json to generate a deploy,” say that, don’t mis-use the word “reproduc

They seem to be one-time deployments that never go away. Since there is no updating and no "down" at all, I think the answer to your question is "N/A." But I may have it wrong. It’s a unique-seeming service, which c
