Been using VLC for as long as I can remember, but recently I have had loads of audio/video sync problems with VLC. Really annoying since I don't want to use any other media player, and I've had to. Will this release do better

The reason humans should be involved directly in war, and be put at risk, its to make it harder for leaders to declare war in the first place. If they know their own people might come back in body bags or get captured, they might think twic

Wow. The cynicism and essentially self centered criticism of this story is nothing short of stunning and deeply depressing. If this place were the commentards section for a US right wing radio station or the UK Daily Wail, then OK. Be here?

I agree. And to be fair to governments and spies, we don't know if any of this info is really dangerous to national security. Well, I certainly dont. Yes, I am a very heavy critic of US spying and so on, over reaching, but equally, the

Not saying this is typical, but here is my experience of Blackberry. I was in IT support at the time they came out. One of the things I hated about IT support, and I found it common with most colleagues, was the idea that if you are in IT,

What this new series, with a lot of skeptics, do not need is an electrical accident. So, I think is a safety reason. You can get one hell of a shock off these systems. Also, I'm sure the Williams' F1 KERS fire is in the back of ma

Why should it be rational? Who cares if you understand it or not? Frankly, no one has to. Fact is people do end up feeling that way, and it costs sales. Worse still, it costs loyalty. So know it exists, the accept it as a reality to deal wi

If this were absolutely the only use of such data slurping, then yes. The problem is, with such secrecy and an unwillingness to allow independent oversight, its hard to believe that. The problem is all the other uses of such information. An

Why is it that some apocalyptic scientific predictions are accepted, while others gain a culture of denial? Strikes me that one could construct a counter argument against this prediction which is as strong as the arguments, for example, cli

Ages ago I spent a fair amount of time considering what would happen if someone invented a new power source. I was planning to try to write a short story based on the idea. In my imagination I invented a device the size of a fridge freezer

I have always said comedians should run the place. So many are incredibly bright, keen observers of life and manage to cut through the PR and political crap that needlessly muddies the waters. Russel is one of these.

And being rich doesn't? Is it the poor who have power to change things, or the rich? Which is the bigger group? The poor or the rich? If it is the poor, then isn't it relatively the rich who think differently?

Government's job is to regulate and legislate. Within that frame work, all if fair. The regulation and legislation failed. Government failed. That's where fingers should be pointed. Same deal with tax avoidance.
