You just confirmed my point. The EU -in contrast to the US and the UK- did not want any exclusivity. They wanted collaboration and a fair distribution of vaccines. They negotiated on a EU level exactly to avoid any nationalistic competition

Well, the motivation and effect is exactly the same which is what most people care about in the end. It's a nationalistic move which is what makes your day if you're a nationalist.

This is hair splitting, because the effect is exactly the same. The UK made sure not to export any vaccines until it has more than enough. This is exactly what the the US is doing, even if they use technically slightly different means.

Most of the issues are just stemming from its centralized nature. Typo squatting for example and other security issues. Beyond that the whole ecosystem around npm is just so bloated. The amount of data you have to pull for any tiny project

It's like wanting to convert a Tesla into a hybrid. Replacing npm with url imports was one of the main motivations to create deno. I don't miss npm at all. I am happy that I don't have to deal with it anymore. But if you want

It's fine if you're stuck in time. No more releases, no changes, no fixes. It's great if you seek stability and don't want to upgrade anything for the rest of your life.

True. But the syntax of almost all other languages are derived from the same basic math syntax we use commonly for at least since programming languages are a thing.

Just program in assembler then. Honestly, Python's way is the only sane way to parse this. This is how a human who never programmed before with some knowledge of math would understand it. Everyone's else mind is just corrupted by

The syntax works exactly like it's supposed to. "is" is an alias for "==". This kind of chained comparison makes code much more readable. This contrived example which I never encountered as a practical issue not wit

I'm a professional and I don't need those tools. Most people I know do not use those tools either. Some people need them, sure. But the number of people who do not need those tools is certainly larger than the Apple market share.
