The system is a mess. I have a small side project and I trademarked the name, yet a competitor of mine used my trademark to promote their site and after speaking with several people about my situation they made it clear that unless I was wi

Absolutely! We are way past the time, at least in the U.S., to not have a guaranteed basic income system of some type (that includes at least basic health care).

Xamarin's value proposition is developing for multiple platforms at once (or at least, as a current Xamarin user, sharing as much as possible between platforms). Swift still offers nothing for that scenario so I don't really under

No problem and good luck with the site! It looks nice and I definitely hope to see more job boards focused on remote work only succeed!

The job board is RemoteCoder but already looked at a Rails/EmberJS job posting and they are looking for candidates "hopefully" within 2 cities they mention and definitely within Australia. If a remote job board is to succeed,

I don't think that encourages spending....I think that encourages offshore bank accounts and the like. Anyhow, I'd think that anyone with any type of massive windfall is pretty thoroughly invested so in some capacity it is contrib

Spending doesn't do as much as starting or investing in new companies or even philanthropy itself. Gates and Pickety agree on the estate tax which would help for people trying to sit on their wealth and simply pass it along to their he

So naturally, and not to be insensitive, but this rule goes out the window when someone famous dies? I've seen the front page of HN covered with stories about Steve Jobs death (amongst others)?

I haven't read that one, but I'll definitely check it out. I'd also recommend Charles Petzold's book called "Code". One of the best technical books I've ever read! http://www.amazon.com/Cod

The wealth disparity that is increasing is mostly due to investments and an extremely low capital gains tax. We can't just increase the income tax because the wealthiest 1% probably don't even have much of an income...they have ca

True, but we are talking about things like candy bars. Kids can pick up a candy bar and not realize that a candy bar that contains THC is any different than a regular candy bar. Not to mention that the candy bar may contain extreme dosages

I'm not in Colorado but I saw one of the downsides the other day which is the manufacture of items like candy bars with multiple serving sizes of THC in the one bar. People aren't paying much attention to the serving sizes and the
