There's no actively maintained port right now, but jcs@ ported it to OpenBSD a while ago. His branch[1] is a couple months behind now, but it wouldn't be terribly difficult to get it working again. It's mostly POSIX code so i

Indeed, the Acid tests are in fact immensely useful for bringing up new HTML and CSS implementations! There's still a lot of work to do on the CSS box model before the SerenityOS browser engine can render Acid1/Acid2 fully. Then w

Hello friends! It's always nice to see SerenityOS posted. :) (Note: The serenityos.org website is pretty barebones, there's a lot more information over in the GitHub repo.[1]) I'm the principal author of the system, although

Congratulations to the Flow team! Very nice work. The world needs more browser engines (dang it Microsoft!), so seeing this development makes me really happy. I've just started working on ACID2 compliance in my own engine a few days ag

Hey that's pretty neat! It does feel a bit sad to vend a heap-allocating vector of string views when it's only used for iteration. Definitely gonna do something similar for my own C++ toolkit. :)

I've been building a new open-source OS[1] (including a web browser) from scratch and sharing the process on YouTube for a year and a half now. At the moment I'm supporting myself and my family with a regular 9-5 programming job,

This subject makes me sad. I've recently heard from a bunch of Apple employees who had asked for permission to contribute to my open source project and got denied. Having worked there in the past myself, it's really weird to think

Definitely! There's a lot of interesting stuff that can be done with interpreters if you decide to focus on them instead of JITs :)

Nah, the OpenBSD port is just a fun side-project by jcs (he is an OpenBSD developer.) I just gave it as an example of how portable the Serenity userspace components are :)

Hi Cameron! I'm not trying to compete with anyone. I'm just building a browser (and operating system) for myself to use and have fun with. :) Regardless, the main things I aim to do differently: 1. No JS JIT, only interpreter. I d

While I agree that a lot of the W3C standards are silly and not worth implementing, I'm still determined to build a new browser from scratch.[1][2] I don't believe that it's impossible. It will take a lot of time and effort,

Indeed, SerenityOS has been using C++17 from the start, and will be using any helpful C++20 features as soon as they are available in compilers. We're already using templated lambdas in a couple of places :)
