It just feels like it's getting hammered into programmers' minds to never use unescaped strings in DB queries all the time. Quite hard to believe that a decent programmer would concat such raw output to an SQL string unescaped. Nevertheless

Thanks for picking this up. I have been bugging pg quite a few times to integrate it, but so far he hasn't had time (or interest in doing so). I hope the recurring posts on Hacker News will up this in his list of priorities :) Just one rema

Well, just try out the Report a problem links right on the homepage. Maybe I should make such a report a problem box show up without a click at all? I did that now. Better?

Everything there :) Let me quote from an e-mail I received earlier through one of the report a problem links on the front page: Browser: Firefox/3.6.8 OS: Mac OS X 10.6 Language: English URL: http://www.reportaproblem.at/

Well, the red boxes were just to highlight the links on the start page so that you don't miss out on what report a problem actually is about. But you're right. I have simply removed them.

Thank you! The JavaScript part of the link is only launched when the user clicks on it, so a bad JavaScript page shouldn't interfere with that. And even then there's an HTML fallback.

Well that's the question. I personally find it very appealing to just quickly add a link to a page and then have the benefit of getting problem reports, rather than having to implement that popover myself.

Actually I finally chose the name because the HTML fallback URL ends up being http://reportaproblem.at/yourservice Could you elaborate on what you mean by removing the HTML snippet from my page? The problem ends up being reported to the e

What brings you to the conclusion that it's based on his work? In the source it says "© 2000-2010 deviantART, Inc. All rights reserved." I also did pressure sensitive drawing for Colorillo: http://colorillo.com/blog/2010/07/pressure-sensit

May I refer you to my project Colorillo http://colorillo.com/ ? Also drawing with HTML5 Canvas but with real-time collaboration--though no art brushes (yet).

Very nice. But the license doesn't give you the right to remove the license text and copyright notice.

Do you receive a javascript error? Sometimes you have to click the bookmarklet twice, I didn't yet bother to debug that. Not sure if that just happens to me.

Thanks for digging this up. I have written to pg how to easily implement this at HN but he didn't have time to do it yet. I think he plans to do so eventually, I hope.

Also from the FAQ: How long is a wrpme URL valid? An URL is valid - at least - thirty (30) days from its last access. In other words, an URL will be kept alive as long as it's acceded once every thirty (30) days . If it is persistent I wo

You can also check out my project Colorillo http://colorillo.com/ It also uses Canvas but doesn't need non-standard ports (this one needs another connection on port 843), allows semi-opaque colors, etc. Apart from that: what does "clear"

It adds a somewhat funny touch that the guy actually responded, and also what he had to say. Sounded like a 15-year old. Still very annoying and nice to read that Nigel managed to get the site down. Also nice to see that the software is sti

Actually I just miss that he doesn't state anything about the downsides of UTF-8. Like that you need to go through the string to determine how many characters it has, due to their (potentially) variable length.

Hm but only really related to the recent Joel and the he's not blogging anymore situation. What he says is still very much valid. It's a nice intro into Unicode. Quite refreshing to read.
