What a ridiculous reply. We're talking about banning smartphones during *class time*. There's nothing here that warrants leaving the country. Jeez.

Don't go. Easy. You'll be at the mercy of individual ICE agents. Read this if you're wondering if it's the right decision, because this could be you: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar

As far as I know you can deliberately choose who you follow (like on Twitter) and which algorithm you use to compose your feed (unlike Twitter). It gives me more power to decide what is important to me and what isn't. How is that not a

I agree that JSONL is the spiritual successor of CSV with most of the benefits and almost none of the drawbacks. It has a downside though: wherever JSON itself is used, it tends to be a few kilobytes at least (from an API response, for exam

I've been avoiding traveling to the US, and even doing stop-overs, at least since Trump first became president. You guys are a bit too enthusiastic about the whole police state / fascism thing, and have been ever since 9/11.

You need to believe what your eyes are seeing. Canadians are taking Trump's threats very seriously, as is Greenland, as is Panama, as is the EU. And for good reason.

The US is not just erratic, it wouldn't be a stretch to call them hostile towards the EU right now.

I also think it didn't feel very "real". Trying too hard to sound upbeat and too eager to please, maybe it's just me being European but it makes me go "ewww, that's not how normal people speak".

Tell me about ways your life in the US was ever seriously negatively impacted by who got elected to the EU commission? Complaining about cookie popups or the GDPR doesn't count.

Agreed. The P95 and P99 in particular are likely to be over 1 second, possibly over 2. They chose P75 to be able to post a seemingly impressive number. I personally wouldn't be very happy with a P75 of 500 ms. It's slow.
