If your memory usage is creeping up, the way you'll find out that you need more memory is by monitoring memory usage via the same mechanisms you'd hypothetically use to monitor your swap usage. If your memory usage spikes suddenly

You aren't grokking what I'm saying. AWS does not allow FIDO2 as an MFA method for API calls. So if your MFA device for your main account is a FIDO2 device, you either: 1. Don't require MFA to generate temporary credentials.

Can you actually generate temporary AWS STS credentials via FIDO MFA? Again, last I looked, FIDO MFA credentials cannot be used for API calls, which you'd need to make for STS credential generation.

Is it possible you misread the comment you're replying to? They aren't recommending adding swap, they're recommending adjusting the memory tunables to make the OOM killer a bit more aggressive so that it starts killing things

If my memory is correct, AWS supports FIDO for web login but not for the API, so you either have to restrict access to FIDO and then use the web UI for everything done as that user, or have a separate non-FIDO MFA device (without FIDO'

I think you may be missing the forest for the trees? I don’t think this was posted because folks are thrilled with the brilliance of Apple’s UI designers; it’s noteworthy because it shows they’re backpedaling on a pretty radical interface s

This honestly sounds like a nightmare. A couple things: 1. "Do the ideation" is baloney. It sounds like you had an idea and decided how you wanted it built and then realized you couldn't do it, which is exactly why ideas are

Honestly for me it was the camera. My phone is my daily device for photo/video capture, and taking a step backwards in quality isn’t worth it for the size improvements.

I'm struggling to grok what the use case is for IP allowlists, passwords, or expiry on shortlinks. Presumably if you need the content that's being referenced to be restricted to only specific people, you'd need to do that at

That’s more an argument that Wikipedia is a social network with a high barrier to entry than an argument that it’s not a social network. Facebook was a social network even when the barrier to entry was “must have gotten in to an elite schoo

It's wild to see two people in a row, one that's saying Wikipedia isn't a social network and then that HN/Reddit aren't. Maybe we should all stop trying to narrowly class what's allowed to be a social network?

This is a bit like asking "why would I use my car's schematics instead of a wrench". This is the rules engine's details. You could use it to build the logic and traversal in whatever language you like.

That entire article is about whether people "feel" safe. It doesn't seem to have any stats on whether or not they are actually safe. But back to the actual thread: the majority of gang violence is against other gangs. This is

I think we've almost certainly bottomed this out, but I feel obligated to point out that table saws can do a bunch of things that are borderline impossible with a hand saw. Table saws are not a replacement for hand saws. The fact that

The problem with "throwing the book" at gang members is that it doesn't work. Nobody joining a gang is making a rational reckoning of the risk/reward of getting caught by the police, partly because they don't plan t

The only ways I can think of where this would be possible is if: 1. You're somehow connecting to Facebook and Amazon over HTTP, not HTTPS 2. Your browser has an extension from your ISP installed that's interfering with content 3.

I'll bite, I guess. The saw stop wasn't a replacement for manual saws. Table saws existed (and still exist!) and have a nasty habit of removing people's fingers. The saw stop was designed as a better table saw. The point bein
