i too would recommend defining aliases. if not for UX reasons, for brevity and consistency. i use the same (short) commands for pacman as for apt or yaourt.

pretty much everything has a vi-mode these days. all shells, tmux, browser via extension (vimperator/vimium/cvim/surfingkeys) or by default (uzbl et al), wm by configuration or default (bspwm/i3/awesome etc.). intel

i install every new release of vscode because i think it has the potential to become a good editor but the vim plugins are still far from good enough for me to use on a regular basis.

ctrl+[ is closer but with an already over-used right pinky it is a bad idea. i much prefer jk as <esc>.

the inability to press left ctrl with the top right of your left hand palm is an unfortunate side effect of most laptop keyboards.

i tried switching from vim to spacemacs but all i got was a bunch of keybinds brought back to my .vimrc such as <space>fs instead of :w (:update) that saves my right pinky for less used commands.

it is quite close to stock android and i think it is quite unfortunate that it is not actually stock android. your critique, while somewhat valid, is not of the oneplus3 but of google's applications.

speed is the main reason i'm not using spacemacs, it has problems just rendering it's own default config file when navigating around it (granted i'm stuck on windows at work which is far from optimal).

think some keys got mixed up here: h or the left arrow - will move you left one character j or the up arrow - will move you up one line k or the down arrow - will move you down one line l or the right arrow - will move you right one charact

it is generally hard to navigate, every time i'm adding a user and giving him access to groups/projects i have to spend a minute to figure out where. the new CI gui is worse than the old one (pre-8).

been using gitlab for the past two years at work and the only time it's inaccessible is when upgrading it. it does have a lot of other issues like response time and a difficult to navigate ui but crashing is not one of them.

you might want to look into changing to another keyboard layout. as a swede, using altgr+[7-0] to get (curly)brackets is just ridiculously cumbersome compared to say a us layout.

i'm forced to use windows as a host to my dev environment at work and i have yet to find a fast enough console/shell. even when you remove plugins and whatever else babun provides to the standard zsh setup it's still not fast

from what i understand it, hyper-v is only supported by a couple of distros and even then, the performance gains are not that noticable. definitely worth looking into none the less, thanks.
