The bar for the product is certainly low. The bar for adoption is a much tougher challenge... hopefully Anyvite figures out a way to handle it.

This article reminded me to go buy some Google ads. I just allocated $20 for them and we'll see how it turns out.

Find a safe place to park and sleep in your car. You can freshen up with some deodorant in the morning and stay 2 days. If you need to take a shower at a motel, you can usually slip a 20 to the front desk person and do so.

Yes I'm sure it's "reasonably straightforward" to build a dialysis machine in a couple of hours, racing against a dying baby.

Dude, you've got to let it go. If you don't, it will eat at you until there's nothing left. You're evidently a talented and creative person -- find a more constructive outlet for your energies.

Craigslist deliberately forces you to interact within your local sphere. It may suck if you're on the border of two of their regions, but it helps them keep a local focus. They could easily implement nationwide search.

Computer people put a high value on precision because a single semicolon is the difference between a working Linux kernel and a jumble of compile-time errors.

You can reduce the time it takes someone to do something, without knowing how long it takes them to do. That's what I'm working on right now. If you make everyone's computer 100% faster, you know that you're delivering a net benefit, even i

You can't really google a bird to figure out that it's a magpie (yet), but one does wonder what the point of being able to identify it is. I'd hope that they're learning more concepts in science than rote memorization which is a debunked ed

What makes these "traps" so bad? I think smart people getting into medicine is a good thing. I think academics make valuable contributions to the world. I think that one of the two US presidential candidates is materially better than the ot

You can tell this a really educated guy. He's a restaurant reviewer but he draws vocabulary from chemistry, talking about the "dual valency" of a noun.

But Internet escapism is in large part a rejection of these long-evolved customs. The people who flock to places like /b/ want a place where everything goes. Sure, there will be the equivalent of "private buildings" on the Internet, but the

What's with all the MSM coverage of 4chan lately? Why, of all Internet communities, does the New York Times write about its filthiest cesspool?

shudder I have a password which requires letters and numbers, requires a mix of case, and needs a capital letter. It also doesn't accept anything based on a word -- the password "Poopio123!" was rejected for being based on the word "opio.
