Just downloaded the app for my daughter. A nice update would be if it showed the note after you get it correctly, such as: C or E Flat, etc. near the top of the screen.

I personally use Java+Spring, JavaScript+Node, and Python+Flask. However, I would recommend against the Spring and Node options as they take a while to master (Spring due to size, and Node due to async programming). I have not used RoR, but

There's a lot of everything in the valley. For complex software, take a look at some of the database companies. For flight hardware + software, AirWare is doing some cutting edge work. Even the "simple" gets complex at scale
