I think both wordings are rude, particularly because of the word "you". OP doesn't know anything about his family's history. It's different from making a general argument that talks about the benefit to the whole co

Your comment may be factual, but you could have skipped the "you should be thankful" bit. It's quite a rude thing to say to someone you don't know.

The rest of the commenters are quick to dismiss this article as presenting scapegoats, but I'm very keen to see more in-depth investigation about how this was orchestrated. There are a lot of different ways that this type of cheating c

Doesn't that fact argument work against GMOs? Cross-breeding has been done for thousands of years, so it's a very well understood technique, whereas doing it in a lab is has not even had half a century of experience behind it.

I definitely wouldn't consider nuclear power in Canada to be a complete success. In 1999, Ontario Hydro's debt stood at $38.1 billion, most of which came from the construction of nuclear plants. For comparison, the entire gover

My comment was written under the assumption that there is more than one path toward reducing CO2 emissions. Putting that aside, I agree with you completely.

This article, like many pro-nuclear arguments, doesn't address the most basic problem -- is nuclear power cost effective? Sure, it's cheap in theory, but nuclear power projects bring with them enormous project management risk. If

It's funny to read this, because I personally find iOS to have by far the best UI of any mobile OS, and I consider the flat design of iOS7 to be a big step forward. Other people feel differently, and they consider Android superior, so

Dude, I thought you were interested in this subject, so I wanted to give some examples of how Kuhn's theory works, seeing as the article did it poorly. I guess I didn't do a much better job myself. I'm not here to argue with

I think you're actually proving Kuhn's point when he argues that the progress of science involves wiping out almost all memory of obsolete paradigms. When we read a science textbook, all of the information is placed within the str

You're right, and it's the article fault for poorly explaining Kuhn's thinking. Newton's laws have never been overturned, merely refined, so we've never truly shifted away from a Newtonian paradigm. A better example

The part that excites me the most is the potential for reducing car ownership. The utlization rate for both cars and parking spaces is extremely low (something like 5% for cars and 15% for parking spaces), so it's not hard to imagine
