I have a lot of respect for the AWS team, but... > one insanely-complex routine task that we do all the time is hiring. You know what the LPs are at hiring time? A checklist. Now even the typical all-day interview marathon isn’t gonna re

jq is one of the most intentionally designed pieces of software I've seen. In due time, I expect it to become as ubiquitous and indispensable as ls, grep, sed and awk. The jq language could use a formal spec, but other than that jq has

As a California resident, this is all very familiar, except our equivalent NIMBY-enabling law is called CEQA. Can someone knowledgeable about CEQA/SEPA compare and contrast the two?

I think Vinge is a genius in these two novels. Great stories, rich environments, superb hard sci-fi, good social commentary, and no magical leaps of faith (aside from the central plot device of A Fire upon the Deep , which is completely up

My Garmin Forerunner is about the size of the larger Apple Watch. While it only lasts 3-6 hours with GPS/HRM/Bluetooth on, it goes for at least 3 weeks on standby, which is what I want from my watch.

For me, the single biggest problem with Apple Watch is battery life, and they seem to have done nothing to improve it. Garmin has always-on, reflective screen watches that can last for weeks on a single charge. I shouldn't need to baby
