I think the right mental model of a hash is that it's a transient value. There's no setting in which it makes sense to store it unless you explicitly control the hash function. Even in languages where it is static over runs, it ca

That sounds really frustrating. They did things like that a few other times too, as I recall. Companies burning their goodwill is such a painfully negative thing about the modern world. Like just.. don't do it, even for the money. It&#

It definitely involves doing a bad job at scale. But also perhaps some of those employees were keeping it stable. Many of them were things presumable, like, account managers and stuff for advertisers. That said, yeah, I agree that it sounde

Well, I'm no expert, but I can say what I think. First, your product looks awesome. But I do think the landing page is a _little_ less good than it probably could be, but I'm not sure I can say exactly why. I bet there is some com

Sounds like a marketing problem. It wouldn't be weird at all to see that at every bookstore in the country. So why isn't it there? Are you focusing on making the product better forever, instead of getting it in front of people, or

That is not true, it is not the 'only way' to formally deal with them. A better way to think of them is as the vector space dual of functions (/forms) under the pairing given by integration. No measures required. The measure

I'm convinced from some anecdotes in my life that a non-trivial amount of neurological behavior is like your blips: caused by actual qualities of the data that the brain is processing, rather than anything lower-level like chemistry an

I would definitely use a simple relational model for this. Or probably in practice just download the whole dataset and do everything locally because it's going to be so small. But I suppose this is an ad for the writer's graph dat

Er? No I'm describing actual physics. Physics does not care about rational vs reals. Nothing is measured to infinite accuracy anyway.

Well-I wouldn't call Christianity an ideology, either. I have problem disagreement with a religion or a practice of a religion having rituals. Those aren't category errors to me at all.

The difference is that I'm interested in a version of physics and economics that is not aware of the distinction between 'real' and 'rational'. Hence none of that should make a difference.

Well, you're right about that. I suppose I don't see the point in calling what you're describing an ideology. Just call it something else so ideology can mean what it means to everyone else..? I see all your examples as like,

Right but the dots aren't popovers. The dots trigger popovers. You should have one dot per dot and one popover per popover. You could certainly make a popover per dot in any react library. It would just be bad to do so.

Afaik even in qft they are effectively singularities, but I'm not an expert in that yet. It's not that they are infinities, it's that they're point discontinuities in the A field.

I see no epistemic problem with a singularity existing. After all electron are singularities in the EM field, of a sort. Why shouldn't a lot of electrons together form a giant singularity?

The claim of general relativity is that a black hole is a singularity in spacetime, meaning that space effectively "ends" there. A very crude model would be cutting a hole out of fabric and then sewing the circle up into a point.

That is a silly way to phrase it. It's secondary in the sense that of course a UI framework has to manage state. They all do that if they're complex at all. The state management is not what distinguishes React from other framewo
