I'd like to see if it's decreasing margins over time on products or if it's due to a shift in product mix sold. Would product level information be disclosed if I submit a request for the full prospectus?

Thanks, that's helpful. Any hints on the declining margins?

Right, so I think that's the reason why the standard Income line is replaced with Seller Discretionary Income. Since it's assumed that there is very little actual work on the new owners side, all of the income of the business beco

A few questions: * Why is Q4 Projected so low compared to Q1-3? * Why are Gross and SDE Margin % falling consistently from 2011-2013? I think one thing that pops out at me is that while most business get better margins as they scale, your m

That's why you don't use revenue relative to profit as a metric, but various returns on invested capital as a metric, e.g. profit to debt, profit to assets, profit to capital expenditures, etc. Revenue is often a difficult figure

Congrats on making the leap! I've been waiting for the right time as well, and it has been too easy to continue kicking the can with reasons why not. I am curious on the 6 months of runway. Have you found how many months others save up

For all the good that tech does for the world, can we stop the judgment of why people are entering the careers they choose, whether it's finance, tech, or otherwise? Let's judge a person not by the content of their background, but

I think of the value of any asset in the form of expected value. For bonds and stocks, it's present value for forecasted future cash flows. For Bitcoins, there is an element of underlying value, but also an element of acceptance as a b

Can you provide a bit more detail? I'm curious, but the page doesn't really give much more than the title & TBC. Btw, I really like the payment structure. Lower minimum with a suggested price, and easy refund processing.

For the record, I'm all for the airline industry being disrupted. I've heard of a few of these Uber-like services being started, but never fully understood the challenges. I'm curious as to whether the objections the author b

Perfect. You could go to conferences free for life and make a nice side business from it.

That's amazing...and probably a nice little side business there, working with artists to attend events and providing physical books as gifts to conference attendees.

Could I ask about the user testing you did on this? Intuitively, if I lost something valuable, I would feel that people would be more inclined to make an effort in returning it if they saw a name (and hence a person) attached to it. Emotion

This is great. I hope the trend catches on for more conferences / events to have these books as a nice momento of the event and reminder of the key points from each speaker.

You're right, I misread the top end of that range. Top trading firms get close to that, (e.g. Jane Street), but $225k is probably pushing unlikely until your 3rd year.

Just over 100k and 130k or $160k (Moelis) makes all the difference for what the parent comment said, which is that bonus is is 100-125% of base (65k)

Nope. 120-130K all in for top bucket in 2013, with some firms paying 140-160K (see BAML and Moelis). Also not true is the 2 year contract, as GS is moving towards a career model and away from a 2 year analyst model. http://www.me

Holy negativity. Why is the overall sentiment of the comment pool so cranky and skeptical? 1) YC startups have a combined valuation of $13.7B. Fact - groups of investors have valued YC startups individually, and in aggregate the current kno

Are we putting that much significance from a quote in 2005 by a Google executive who has since left Google? While some see it as a social utility, Google is a $350B public company that generates its revenues from advertisements. 8 years ago

Yep. I actually think it would be valuable to have a third-party non-profit entity that provides economic impact assessments of start-ups like Uber and Airbnb, so we are backing up our regulatory policy changes on data rather than emotion o

Not arguing at all that things have inherent value, but the challenge is having an objective way of putting a dollar value to those activities. For example, does a backup generator add any value if the electricity never goes out? Do you onl
