I obviously don't have any data of my own, but Arestovich is one of the people who deliver military briefings to the nation on behalf of the Ukrainian President's office[1]. I have the greatest respect for both Wikipedia and the B

As I pointed out elsewhere in this thread, there may be some misunderstanding/misreporting going on. According to Alexey Arestovich (a military advisor to the office of the Ukrainian president), the 3500 includes both killed AND wound

With all due respect, the second paragraph is a bit of an overgeneralisation. (Speaking as an introvert myself.)

Not my area of expertise, but the quoted "fact" seems at best incompletely stated: surely for it to hold there must be some constraints on the number of points (likely as a function of the diameter)?

To me, "docking one's pay" implies some sort of action to pay less than previously agreed. Is that what you mean?

Sorry, what's pertft()? (Could be a straightforward typo, but I'm not seeing it. Also clearly not important to understanding your point, but I'm just very curious.)

Thanks for prompting me take another look at ZMK. I remember concluding that power consumption would have been an issue, but either things have improved or I just reached the wrong conclusion last time I looked. https://zmk.dev&

I really like my keyboards wireless, specifically BLE (so no receiver dongles). I also like them to have long battery life (months). I don't care for backlight LEDs. Is there existing open-source firmware that would tick these boxes?

I'm curious if this is a provable result or an empirical observation? (Come to think of it, I'm not even sure what's meant by program validity in this context.)

I agree that it's unfortunate that this is the default behaviour. It's just so unexpected when first encountered. That said, it is not always desirable that a new object is created each time the function is called without the arg

I agree that "inevitable" is clearly too strong a statement. Furthermore, the odds of getting it depend on whether any of you are vaccinated and/or have previously had COVID (knowingly or otherwise).

Is the power consumption (and heat dissipation) a function of bit rate? E.g. would the same 10GBASE-T transceiver consume less power when running at, say, 2.5Gb/s than at 10Gb/s? Would love to understand this a bit better. (edit:

It all has to do with intensity. We obviously can't tell from the information provided, but if they ran at a slow pace, that would also skew the fueling towards fat.

I haven't checked the other two numbers, but your UK tax calculation is off. A more accurate after-tax number (applying correct income tax bands and national insurance) is €80K.
