Isn't this rehashing PG's essay, The Acceleration of Addictiveness? http://www.paulgraham.com/addiction.html

Really cool - I've been doing essentially the same thing for some of my apps, but I never got around to covering all the UI components and packaging it up in a library. I don't have time to test it now, but does it come with the Holo versio

Thanks for this Chris. I've been learning Clojure in my free time, and you've combined several of the things that most interest me in one post (noir, overtone, and clojurescript).

Weird. I can't remember ever having trouble loading a tumblr blog. I wonder what accounts for our different experiences?

I really don't know what Twitter's next move is. They've done a great job of building a successful platform. But the product is very simple (by design), and it seems they've largely exhausted the obvious extensions to it. How are they going

Ah, yes. What I'm talking about above applies to level 4 merchants, (less than 20k ecommerce transactions), who can get away with lower level compliance. The ABCD levels refer to the self assessment questionnaires (SAQ) these level 4 merch

I used to work as a low-level tech for one of the largest PCI compliance providers. For smaller merchants (I think less than 20k? transaction per year) there's 4 levels of compliance: A, B, C, and D. A is for merchants who redirect to anoth

Slightly off topic, but I am really enjoying working with Noir and Clojure in general. It just feels so clean, because I'm working with all of these elegant abstractions. I can just write the code in a way that makes sense, and then use a m

Seriously. This is a completely ridiculous prediction. I'm not saying it's actually likely, but I see a greater chance that things will go the other way: i.e., Amazon will open up the Fire (or future devices) to work with the Android Market

Seriously, I have the sickest feeling in the pit of my stomach. These congresspeople don't understand what's going on AT ALL, and the deck is already stacked against anti-SOPA activists. They don't seem to be even discussing the constitutio

When it comes to privacy violations in the digital age, this is so far down the list of concerns that I don't understand why we're talking about it. Probably just because some politicians in (I believe it was) Germany misunderstood what it

There's a certain class of people for whom any change to something they are familiar with is automatically negative. I imagine that in 20 years, they'll be the market for phones with a physical dialer.

Hi there. I'm kinda new to programming, I changed majors and have only been working at it for a couple of years. I've been very inspired by some of the posts I've seen here. They kept me going to finish this project, so I wanted to share it

I'd totally be up for more research into this area. The comments I'm talking about are not asking for harder evidence. They're saying "my personal experience is worth more than yours." And there aren't any women (that I know of) who are tel

Your comment really bothers me. I really just want to respond with "fuck you", but maybe there's still something there to save. How exactly is trying to make your body conform to what your mind is telling you so weird ? Try to use a little

I can barely believe the things I'm reading on this page. Lots of comments similar to "It's just trolling, get over it." And "she's just reinforcing negative stereotypes of women by not being strong enough to handle the internet." And "men
