This is a PR blog, of a private company, publishing "first blush" of "preliminary data". While any contribution to knowledge is warranted, this should not be circulating.

There's always the possibility that a method will be found that will allow the material to maintain at least some of these properties after "returning" to normal temp/pressures conditions.

I love counter-intuitive facts. They are a helpful reminder that things are more complicated than I think they are, and I don't understand the world as well I think I do. "Gravity has a very strong effect. So what happens when an

I dislike websites like this and their agenda. They are fueling the racial war instead of trying to fight it. It makes it seem like this is a white against black thing and it most surely isn't (or at the very least not primarily). For

I see an interesting corollary to this: If an AI can become conscious, it follows that consciousness does not contain (or at least require) free will. Of course I can't define what "free will" is exactly, but I can make a cla

Off topic, but in my mind the answer to "free will" is obviously, boringly no. If we are, as you've put it, a finite state machine, the fact that random inputs are possible doesn't make the machine any less deterministic

There's a great course called NAND to Tetris, which teaches, by example, at increasing levels of complexity starting from simple logic gates up to an actual program. It's very good. https://www.nand2tetris.org/
