What is the alternative? And is it really better than encoding into the data type? Only option I can think of is writing unit tests for each case, which doesn't seem like too much different. And without type encoding you never sure tha

In this example, is it really the case that all 20 are dependent into each other so you have to combine all of them into a single enum? For the ones that are independent you can keep them as booleans and you should.

Simple, your compiler/type checker/static analyzer/whatever needs to ensure that any value that is not unused gives an error. But you need some sort of static analysis for that. Without type checking you don't do that of

For "Errors as values", I agree 100% that it's better then special values or untracked exceptions but I also think that current programming languages lack the features that allow encoding errors as values conveniently. Firstl

You frame it like "Rust advocates" try to infiltrate into C++ language decision making and inject safety features into it. That's not the case at all. For years C++ committee simply ignored the need for safety and they didn&#

I doubt it would be seen as scandal. They can simply generate training data for these questions just like how they generate for other problems. Only difference is probably pay rate is much higher for this kind training data than most other

For that "AI" this level of investment was not necessary though. What I mean is about companies that develops LLMs for general problem solving. They require huge investment yet their value yield is still very low.

Good to see this. Bitwarden is one of the few companies that I actually like. And even them can dissappoint when profitability requires it seems.

AI companies are desperately trying to find actual use cases but it seems like there is not that much to justify current investment.

A lot of gambling practices are not allowed at least for young people. I agree that exploiting psychology is a gray area because it's hard to draw the line between ethical and unethical. But it's agreed that many practices are ill

Regarding the attention economy, I believe many practices utilized in today's social media will become crimes in the future due to how they exploit our behavioral structures. I consider myself lucky because I have experienced the times

So it means that throwing data and computing into LLMs won't make them intelligent as opposed many people claiming that will happen. Also they don't play well with the situations that are not in the dataset since they are just ext

Looks nice, but what advantage it has over Obsidian or Zettlr? Maybe Obsidian is more expensive but Zettlr is free and also FOSS.

I chose the second option and I am really happy for it. I already had a server for my Nextcloud instance and adding one more Nginx reverse proxy to it was essentially free. I didn't even use a framework and chose to just use libraries
