I was looking through old (1900 - 1940) census records recently, they were all hand written then. Some people had beautifully legible writing, others chicken scratch, and occasionally I'd see something like what the average 30-somethin

The new Hell I'm experiencing is everyone wanting to validate my identity through my phone. Email does it, banking does it, I suspect by the end of the year Windows will probably be sending me a code before I can log in. I'm sick

I'd like to see a video showing the experiment with some of the more complex interferometer setups so that it's easier to understand the coherent effect. I've seen series like this before: https://www.youtube.com&#

I still can't believe they're able to disable "Hibernate", now "Sleep" is at risk? And of course with all the bloat booting takes forever.

I have a disposable electric toothbrush. The bottom just screws off to reveal the bottom half of a AAA battery. (An O-ring keeps it dry) I'm pretty sure with a little finagling I could swap out the battery. Now if only someone could fi

So when I buy a 600 lumen LED bulb that burns 7 W, I'm not only getting hosed because they're overdriving the LEDs but I'm also using over twice as much electricity as I could be?

Recently my credit card has been validating my purchases via SMS OTPs. I'm not thrilled by that, but after reading the article it sounds like an effective way to cut back on a lot of the credit card fraud.

This happened to me once, but it was a beetle and it flew out of a sealed package of spinach from the grocery store. They doubled my refund which was nice.

I felt the same way the first time I saw the new BSoD. It did at least have an error code displayed. But I couldn't agree with the article more, after a bug just ruined my day the last thing I want to see is an insincere cartoon trivia

What are some projects where people use Bevy for simulations (as opposed to gaming)? It’s something I’m going to do, and I’d love to see how it’s worked out for others.

I thought that was so high, so I ran the numbers using some median and average values and I got pretty close. The average vehicle costs $40k, is owned for 11 years, gets driven 13k miles per year, burns 25 mpg, gas costs $3/gal, insura
