This is exactly how it works in Japan. The country lies in the sweet spot where software development will likely never be able to compete globally, but local talent is good enough and the cultural divide big enough that local players almost

Sony's been pushing things forward quite a bit, and after catching up on most of the fundamentals, they're now working in AI/ML. Their latest cameras have incredible eye-autofocus built with ML, and they also recently announc

Totally agree that everyone notices the difference. I sync all of my α6600 photos to my iCloud library, and just scrolling through my photos to look for something to show a friend, they always comment, "You took these on your phone!?&q

"Do you" in a sentence like this is equivalent to "does one;" it doesn't actually refer to the listener, at least in American English.

Doesn't negate the rest of your point, but just for your information, business parks have long been called campuses; that's not a Google or infantile thing.

If you haven’t already, try Capture One. It’s so much faster than Lightroom and, at least for my needs, has much better functionality as well.

Interestingly, I think this is the opposite in the Mac ecosystem. If an app uses the latest APIs and design trends, I expect it to be well crafted and cared for and am also rarely wrong.

Just another anecdote but I was a kid at the time and remember the selling point for Dreamcast among people I knew was specifically that you could just copy the games. Everyone had stacks of CDs they’d copy for new console owners.

On top of what others have said (this is how it's intended to work), if the university saw fit to fund the research up to commercialization, or at least a patent, they would be the ones taking the profit.

The products and pages look the same since they all copied Apple. The same thing has happened with packaging. I guess you could technically call it standard now, but it all originated with Apple.
