1. Each operation lists the big-O complexity; most operations are O(lg N). 2. There are no mutations 3. I think it would be rather redundant to mention that every operation that returns a new object conses.

Persistent/functional data-structures aside, bags are the most useful data type that is omitted from many container-libraries (whether or not the containers are part of the language stdlib).

I'd not heard the Enya rendition of that hymn before I followed the link from TFA and I honestly don't care for that rendition at all.

Cheaper and more fungible. Companies pay lots of money for mediocre security audits. Most attackers aren't very good either. However it only takes one good attacker. If the attacker and defender are using the same AI model, then (up

I have a half-serious theory that their mobile app is for price discrimination. The best deals are only available in the app, but the experience is so bad that you'll only use it if you really need to.

Starting in the late '70s, and by the '90s it was entrenched with economists that could affect policy that vertical integration is good for consumers. In theory, this shouldn't matter, since there were laws against it, but i

Omitting subtractive methods makes it rather toothless, since there have been places you can go to push a button to start a mill making you a receiver (which is the part that is considered "the gun" to address ship-of-theseus ques

I'm not on top of the current SOTA in 3d-printed guns, but the way it typically was done in the past is that you don't actually 3d-print all of what you or I would call a complete gun. The barrel will be metal. In designs made fo

I'm saying that both the headline of TFA and the statement of the lean-zip creator can be correct. If they e.g. specially crafted a .zip file that caused it to flip bits via row-hammer like memory accesses, the same would be true.

As someone who has discovered a bug in a CPU that was previously unknown to our chip vendor, I would like to point out that the rabbit hole is deep. On the other hand, I've discovered thousands of bugs that weren't hardware bugs,

When I ran my own mail server, I was lucky to even make it to the gmail spam folder. More often it didn't even make it that far. From what I can tell, O365 is even worse though.

This is not how people outside of cybernetics use POSWID. From context it does not appear to be how SlinkyOnStairs was using it either. I think it's also trying to be too cute. The first two definitions of purpose on Wiktionary[A]: 1

I will propose that you are wrong. 1. We must ignore the intentions of the designers (your claim), and instead see what the outcomes are 2. Therefore we should ignore Beer's intentions when designing the phrase POSWID, and instead see
