The book in the article is approximately 70 to 100 years older than the Book of Kells. There are many books that are even older. What makes this one special is that it has not been rebound, as the Book of Kells and most medieval codices hav

If the view is set to "by last visited," Firefox's history searches are sorted by last visit. Maybe you had some add-on that changed the behavior.

Hmm, it doesn't say they can terminate you for any reason at all, but rather only "if you fail to comply with these Terms, or where required to by law," in addition to "non-payment, which is defined as failure to make a

Aren't the codes that came with the DVDs that Netflix is then reselling one-time use? So Netflix doesn't ever use them, just sells them (i.e. the ability to download the material) to someone once. Netflix only has many to sell bec

I'm a big weirdo and have all my cookies set to delete every time I close the browser, but, importantly, I recognize that I'm weird. I think the vast majority of people want their cookies to stay around, especially so they can clo

A .deb file would only work on certain distributions. Why wouldn't you use your distro's package manager to download Firefox? I guess it might be helpful to have a note on their site telling Linux users just that.

I like how they compared the performance of the two browsers on five whole websites (Chrome was faster at displaying three, Firefox two). Some very comprehensive testing.

If media.autoplay.enabled is set to false (is that the default these days?), it does not automatically play with Firefox.

With the add-on there's a useful button you can put in the navbar that lets you easily edit the containers and add sites to always open using them. I didn't know you could even do the later until I started using the add-on.

Leechblock is updated. The developer made it into a separate add-on though. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/leechblock-ng...

I was trying to figure that out too. These "great historians" are in opposition to what he calls "scientific" historians, which I assumed meant the Annales School (really into sociology and quantitative data).[1] But I d

It's a bit obscure in Firefox 57 beta and newer. Open Preferences then click on Privacy & Security, then go to the "History" section. Select Firefox will "use custom settings for history" and you'll see the

Detroit attempted to annex Highland Park multiple times in the early twentieth-century (at least in 1910, 1922, and 1924, maybe more). But Highland Park was wealthier and its residents wanted to remain independent. Now things are different,

To understand why Detroit and the surrounding region look the way they do today you cannot just chalk everything up to factories closing and the mismanagement of local government. Not to say those aren't important, but the systematical

While I agree many people do this with Highland Park, Hamtramck is very distinct, both physically (types of houses, density) and demographically (huge immigrant populations, Polish and now Middle Eastern and South Asian). Actually, certain
