I see that the majority of the business world has pathetic technical vision, but a lot more money. Careful. They may have more money in aggregate, but a lot of them don't buy tech solutions, don't want to change, aren't actually business-

Jarrod's point in writing this essay was to question and counterpoint Sascha's original claim about the "perfect price."

This theory is called "penetration pricing," and most research shows that it works very rarely, and only in specific circumstance. It's intuitive, and mostly wrong. Which is why I recommended the book Pricing with Confidence to Sascha when

Quite a few "desktop" apps have hybrid models - Evernote, Dropbox, CRM software, iCloud, etc, no doubt there are more which I can't think of at the moment.

Not many have made it to that point - 3 years - however. This is true, but there are only 2 reasons I see: 1. Choosing the utterly wrong product. Smart people like us are drawn like moths to the flame of "great ideas," rather than "things

As somebody who makes quite a bit of money off infoproducts (ebooks etc) -- and who has a lot of friends who do it as well -- I can assure you, there are support costs for ebooks. :) People lose download links, you have to reissue. People

Thanks for the link :) That graph is nice but this is the real graph you want to see: https://img.skitch.com/20120331-ft3faju2jpqseq3ucff1fgi31h.p... That's the "estimated" (all open trials) revenue growth for Freckle over its whole life

If he had donated $1000 to a fund opposing inter-racial marriage… Bravo. This is exactly the argument we should make. If he had donated to pass an anti-miscegenation law, we would all know it was wrong. You're free to believe whatever you

I totally agree with you about the importance of perspective and deep thinking. I hammer on about those, myself. But that has to be a fire you already have, something you seek on your own, or all the clever, insightful, Robin Williams-Oh Ca

As the woman, I've been the only person in the group asked to put together a pot luck (presumably, this work is beneath the males). I've been the only one asked to take notes in a meeting... even if I'm the one who's presenting (because my

Question: Why did the title of this post change? Was it the original submitter who changed it? If no, who? https://img.skitch.com/20120321-81k4yxffg161n1rh9f2dc4kf56.p...

Yeah, you said their work was "light enough" that distractions don't matter. That was condescension. If you want to backpedal, you actually have to take the pedals and run them backwards. Otherwise it's not effective.

Here are my thoughts: Reading your comment is a totally superior experience to reading pg's essay. You explained your viewpoint. You reasoned it out. You backed up your views. You didn't make seemingly unconnected bald statements with a sin

Nothing at all. It's just that when you see comments like these -- "I noticed that" or "me too" -- you so rarely see "and then I wondered why, and here's what I found…" as a follow-up. The conversation is poorer because "I noticed" is where

Yup, I do, but conditionally. But, like I said, that doesn't matter. What's at issue is not what I believe, but what you fail to demonstrate, argue, or prove. You asked for statements I believed to be false. I took this to mean statements

The burden of proof is on you. It's your essay. Furthermore, I didn't state that I disagreed… I merely asked you to explain your reasoning. Argument isn't a case of "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." You either have a case to ma
